The mission of Holy Trinity Catholic School is to make Catholic education available to any family that truly desires for their son/ daughter to attend. For that reason, resources exist to help families who are unable to pay the full tuition/ fees.

To be eligible for such assistance, a family should follow these general conditions:

NEW POLICY FOR 2010-2011 FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Holy Trinity Catholic School has dramatically increased the amount of tuition assistance that is provided. For this reason, the School Board feels that a more formal process of honoring such requests must be established. After discussion, the School Board has recommended a new procedure. The Pastors (Fr. Ray and Fr. Joe) have given final approval to this new plan.

Please review the following details. This short summary will inform you of the process to be used and important deadlines that must be followed.

DETAILS FOR NEW PROCEDURE

§    OUTSIDE AGENCY WILL PROCESS ALL TUITION ASSISTANCE REQUESTS.
Smart Tuition (the same company that handles most of our parental tuition payments) provides the service that our school has chosen.

§    APPLICATION FORM.
The information entered on the form is confidential. Only the Church Business Manager and Principal will have access to the data that is submitted.

§    COST TO APPLY.
There is no cost for this service. However, you must have paid your pre-registration and final registration fees in order to be eligible. (This prerequisite has always been our policy.)

§    INSTRUCTIONS.
A guide with detailed direction is included with this cover letter. There is also a toll free help line to assist you with any questions.

§    FILING PROCESS.
Some documents must be mailed. However, other details (if you prefer) may be transmitted via FAX or by applying online. Access to a omputer will be made available at the school, if necessary. DO NOT RETURN TO SCHOOL OR PARISH OFFICE.

§    APPLICATION USED BY
SCHOOL & DIOCESE.
All the information will be valid for both Holy Trinity and the Belleville diocese. You will not have to file any additional financial data.

§    WHAT WILL THE SCHOOL/ DIOCESE RECEIVE FROM THE AGENCY?
Holy Trinity will receive two reports:
1. A recommendation concerning how much of your income should reasonably be expected to be used for tuition purposes.
2. A recommendation as to how much aid (of the school’s total allotment for this purpose) should be given to each family who applies.

§    DEADLINE.
Please submit all documents by May 3. (The stated deadline is May 1; however, that is a Saturday).

§    INTRODUCTORY CONFERENCE
IS WELCOME.
Please feel free to contact Mrs. Diana Vogt (htbusiness2@sbcglobal.net or 618-628-8825
) to set up an appointment for further discussion or assistance concerning this new procedure.

The School Board believes this new process for conducting an assessment of requests for tuition assistance will help maintain strict confidentiality for families who apply. In addition, an objective and systematic analysis is utilized that insures a careful way to distribute the funds that are available.   ~ Michael Oslance, Principal
